About the Role

Atkins Search Limited is collaborating with a reputable Mechanical and Electrical Contractor to find a skilled Mechanical Estimation Specialist to enhance their dynamic and professional workforce.


We welcome applications from both experienced and junior Mechanical Estimators.

Key Responsibilities

  • Prepare precise and competitive cost estimates for mechanical projects valued between £300k and £8m.
  • Engage closely with clients, contractors, and internal teams to evaluate project specifications and requirements.
  • Develop detailed cost estimates and proposals, encompassing materials, labor, equipment, subcontractor services, and overhead expenses.
  • Review and analyze offers and quotes from subcontractors and suppliers.
  • Foster relationships with suppliers, project managers, and subcontractors.
  • Support the business unit director and provide weekly updates.
  • Collaborate with sales, project management, and engineering teams to comprehend project specifications and timelines.
  • Examine project plans, drawings, and specifications to ascertain the scope of work, materials, and labor needs.
  • Conduct site visits and assessments to gather information and evaluate project feasibility and potential challenges.
  • Identify project risks and uncertainties, developing strategies to mitigate them and ensure successful project delivery.
  • Communicate with suppliers, subcontractors, and vendors to obtain pricing and quotes for materials and services.
  • Maintain accurate records of estimates, proposals, and project documentation, updating internal databases as necessary.
