About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented individual to join our Cash and Banking team as a Banking Assistant. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in processing and reconciling transactions in accordance with our Society procedures.
Your responsibilities will include:
- Maintaining and updating process documents to ensure a full and accurate overview of our financial operations.
- Investigating transactions to prevent fraud and ensure the integrity of our financial systems.
- Completing regular reconciliations of Cashbook and Statement items in bank and reconciliation software.
- Identifying unreconciled items and taking appropriate actions, including creating finance system postings and raising queries with internal stakeholders or external companies.
- Working with the Senior Banking Assistant and Cash and Banking Manager to identify risks and flag any breaches in control.
- Assisting auditors with documentation and information as required.
This role is part of a team based at our Head Office in Warwick, with a mix of working from home and in the office. You will need to be able to travel into the office on certain days.
Requirements:
- Experience in a Transactional Finance role is desirable.
- Intermediate level of MS Excel.
- Required to hold or work towards AAT qualification.
- Computer literate and able to use standard computer packages and understand up to date accounting software and processing techniques.
- Demonstrable Banking process knowledge.
- Awareness of the risks and controls required for an accurate bank reconciliation.
