Job Summary

We are seeking a highly motivated and experienced Safety Compliance Officer to join our team at Lidl GB. As a key member of our health and safety team, you will be responsible for ensuring the highest standards of safety and compliance across all areas of the business.

Key Responsibilities
  • Conduct regular site visits, inspections, and audits to ensure compliance with health and safety regulations and company policies.
  • Assist with general department tasks and provide support on day-to-day matters relating to health and safety and food safety.
  • Develop and maintain a positive safety culture across all operational areas, ensuring that risk assessments and internal procedures remain current, effective, and relevant.
  • Proactively improve compliance and standards within our stores, warehouses, and offices, identifying and implementing solutions to reduce risks and improve safety.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, providing recommendations for improvement and ensuring that corrective actions are taken.
  • Support corporate goals and maintain Lidl GB at the forefront of regulatory compliance, ensuring that we meet or exceed industry standards.
Requirements
  • Holding or working towards a health and safety or food safety qualification is desirable.
  • A passion for working in the retail food sector and a desire to develop a career in health and safety and food safety.
  • Flexibility to travel to all areas within GB and a full UK driving license.
  • Strong written skills and IT skills, including Word, Excel, and PowerPoint.
  • Effective time management skills, able to work within tight time frames and prioritize tasks.
  • Excellent team player with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Enthusiastic and self-motivated, with a solution-focused attitude and a commitment to achieving high results.
