About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Health and Safety Consultant to join our team at Lidl GB. As a key member of our Health and Safety team, you will play a critical role in ensuring the well-being of our employees and customers.

Key Responsibilities

  • Develop and implement effective health and safety policies and procedures to ensure compliance with relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Conduct regular site visits and inspections to identify potential hazards and provide guidance on risk management.
  • Investigate incidents and accidents, and provide recommendations for improvement.
  • Provide training and support to employees on health and safety procedures and protocols.
  • Collaborate with external service providers to ensure the highest levels of service and statutory compliance.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders, including employees, customers, and external partners.
  • Stay up-to-date with changes in health and safety legislation and regulations, and provide guidance on best practices.

Requirements

  • Relevant degree in a field such as health and safety, environmental science, or a related discipline.
  • Professional membership of a relevant industry body, such as IOSH.
  • Strong knowledge of UK health and safety legislation and regulations.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to engage with employees at all levels.
  • Ability to influence and persuade others to adopt safe working practices.
  • Results-oriented and comfortable communicating at all levels of seniority within a large organisation.
  • Effective time management skills, with the ability to plan and prioritise tasks.
  • Strong written and IT skills, including proficiency in Microsoft Office Suite.
  • Flexibility to travel to all areas within GB, with a full UK driving licence.
