Job Summary:

We are seeking a dedicated and compassionate 1:1 Teaching Assistant to support a student with Special Educational Needs (SEN) in a school in Horncastle. The successful candidate will work closely with the classroom teacher to plan and deliver effective support, promoting the student's learning and development on a one-to-one basis.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide 1:1 support to the student, assisting with classroom tasks, reading, writing, and completing assignments.
  • Develop the student's confidence and independence, working closely with the class teacher to deliver tailored learning activities.
  • Help create a positive and supportive learning environment, ensuring the student's physical and emotional well-being is maintained.
  • Monitor the student's progress and report back to staff and parents, adapting learning materials to meet the student's specific needs.
  • Support with managing behaviour and implementing strategies, working well within a team and following instructions.

Requirements:

  • Previous experience as a 1:1 Teaching Assistant (SEN) is essential, with a strong understanding of Special Educational Needs and the challenges children may face.
  • Patience, empathy, and excellent communication skills are required, as well as the ability to work well within a team and follow instructions.
  • Knowledge of safeguarding and child protection regulations is essential, with an enhanced DBS on the update service or willingness to obtain one.
