About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Transportation Manager to join our team at CRA GROUP LIMITED. As an Integrated Transport Manager, you will play a key role in supporting the delivery of our Highways Service and managing the Integrated Transport Team.

Key Responsibilities
  • Policy Development: Collaborate with the Head of Traffic Management to develop and implement policies that improve the management and improvement of the network.
  • Traffic Calming and Road Safety: Manage the implementation of traffic calming and road safety schemes, including the assessment of their impact on the network using data-led approaches.
  • Highway Infrastructure: Investigate requests for new highway infrastructure, such as traffic signs and road markings, and assist the Highways PMO team in developing the Council's annual programme and long-term strategy.
  • Team Management: Lead and manage the Integrated Transport Team, ensuring that they have the necessary skills and resources to deliver key improvements.
  • Stakeholder Engagement: Work closely with Senior Officers, elected members, and other Council teams to ensure that the management and improvement of the network support Council priorities and policy documents.
Requirements
  • Experience: Proven experience in a similar role, ideally with a traffic engineering/management background.
  • Knowledge: Significant in-depth knowledge of highway and traffic legislation and regulations, including the Highways Act, the Traffic Signs Regulations and General Directions, and the Traffic Management Act.
  • Skills: Strong analytical and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze statistical data and write policy and strategy documents.
  • Communication: Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with stakeholders at all levels.
