Position Overview

Novax Recruitment Ltd is seeking a dedicated Housing Support Officer to join our team, responsible for delivering essential services to individuals experiencing homelessness within the community.

This role serves as a vital link for clients seeking assistance through the Housing Options Service, ensuring that they receive the necessary support and guidance.

Key Responsibilities

  • Assist in fulfilling the council's responsibilities under the Housing Act 1996, as updated by the Homelessness Reduction Act 2017.
  • Provide expert knowledge regarding the obligations to homeless individuals as outlined in the relevant legislation.
  • Understand and apply landlord and tenant laws, including the Housing Act 1985 and 1988, and the Protection from Eviction Act 1977.
  • Implement strategies aimed at preventing homelessness and promote various housing solutions offered by both public and private entities.

Candidate Profile

  • Demonstrated understanding of the legal framework surrounding homelessness and housing rights.
  • Familiarity with family law and welfare benefits to support clients effectively.
  • Ability to collaborate with various stakeholders to enhance service delivery.
