Job Opportunity

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced professional to join our Planning Service team as a Minerals and Waste Planning Officer. This is an exciting opportunity to contribute to the development of our ambitious Planning Service transformation programme.

About the Role

As a Minerals and Waste Planning Officer, you will play a key role in shaping the future of our communities by working on strategic planning policy matters and preparing local plans. You will be responsible for coordinating and managing projects that ensure an evidence-led approach is taken to policy and plan-making, balancing economic development with environmental and community interests.

Key Responsibilities
  • Support the preparation, monitoring, and review of minerals and waste policies and the supporting evidence base.
  • Research planning and industry issues relevant to Wiltshire and the local sub-regional area.
  • Prepare and deliver reports with recommendations for project leads/teams to use when developing policies.
  • Contribute to the development of local plans and policy documents.
Requirements

We are looking for a candidate with a relevant degree and post-qualification experience working on significant strategic planning policy matters. You should have a good understanding of or interest in minerals and waste planning matters.
