Job Title: Planning Policy Lead Officer

Job Summary:

We are seeking an experienced Planning Policy professional to join our team as a Planning Policy Lead Officer. As a key member of our planning function, you will have a direct impact on delivering our ambitious vision for Swindon through the planning process.

About the Role:

As the Planning Policy Lead, you will report directly to the Borough's Chief Planning Officer and will be responsible for leading on the Local Plan, which is in production. A sound Local Plan is vital if we are to deliver our vision for Swindon, and your role in leading that process is critical.

You will work closely with colleagues across the council to ensure the delivery of corporate objectives through the planning process and ensure that infrastructure is provided to support new development.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lead on the development and implementation of the Local Plan
  • Work closely with colleagues to ensure the delivery of corporate objectives through the planning process
  • Ensure that infrastructure is provided to support new development
  • Collaborate with stakeholders to shape future investment, growth, and regeneration

Requirements:

  • Experience in Planning Policy
  • Strong leadership and management skills
  • Ability to work collaboratively with colleagues and stakeholders
  • Fluency in the English language
