Job Description

We are seeking a highly skilled Revenues Officer to join our team on a 2-month contract, with a strong likelihood of extension. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for delivering exceptional results in the Revenues Service, including Council Tax billing and recovery, NNDR, BIDs, and HBOP recovery.

Key Responsibilities
  • Meet Individual and Team Targets: Achieve and exceed targets in the delivery of the Revenues Service, including Council Tax billing and recovery, NNDR, BIDs, and HBOP recovery.
  • Induction and Training: Provide induction and training to new staff, and deliver training to existing staff as part of their development process.
  • Liaise with Valuation Office Agency: Liaise with the Valuation Office Agency to ensure liability is correctly assessed and/or where alterations/amendments to properties may be required, updating the property database as directed.
  • Maintain Effective Working Relationships: Develop and maintain effective working relationships with registered social landlords, internal council housing, Housing Benefits sections, other local authorities, businesses, and BIDs companies, voluntary sector organizations, and central/local government departments.
Requirements
  • Extensive Knowledge of Revenues: Possess extensive knowledge of Revenues, including relevant legislation and regulations.
  • Qualifications: Hold 5 GCSEs (including English and Maths) or equivalent, or have work experience of at least an equivalent level.
  • Experience: Have significant experience of Revenues administration working practice and procedures, preferably in a delivery role, and experience of dealing directly with and advising members of the public in a professional manner.
