About the Role

We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Accounts Assistant to join our team at our flavoured oil production facility in Padiham, Lancashire. The successful candidate will support the Plant Controller with business accounting activities, including invoice processing, expense requests, credit control, and cash book maintenance.

Key Responsibilities
  • Process and send invoices, ensuring timely payment and accurate reconciliation
  • Manage expense requests, maintaining accurate records and ensuring compliance with company policies
  • Implement effective credit control measures to minimize late payments
  • Maintain accurate cash book records, ensuring timely reconciliations and accurate financial reporting
  • Update and maintain the company's purchase and sales ledgers, ensuring accurate financial records
  • Perform bank reconciliations, ensuring accurate financial reporting and minimizing discrepancies
  • Raise sales invoices, ensuring accurate and timely processing
  • Liaise with third-party providers, clients, and suppliers, ensuring effective communication and timely resolution of issues
  • Conduct daily stock counts for manufacturing and consumables, ensuring accurate inventory management
  • Process accruals and prepayments, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies
  • Compile monthly VAT information for submission, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
  • Support in completing the monthly balance sheet reconciliation, ensuring accurate financial reporting and compliance with company policies
  • Perform basic administration tasks, including ordering consumables and stationery
  • Update and maintain procedural documentation, ensuring accurate and up-to-date records
  • Complete weekly and monthly financial Excel reporting spreadsheets for submission, ensuring accurate and timely reporting
Qualifications and Skills

We are looking for an individual with a positive attitude, strong organizational skills, and excellent communication skills. The ideal candidate will have previous experience in an accounts or credit control team, with experience in SAP Business 1/Hana and Microsoft software packages being beneficial.
