Job Title: Occupational Therapist - Acute Rehabilitation

Join our team at St George's University Hospitals NHS Foundation Trust as a Specialist Occupational Therapist - Band 6 in our Acute and Rehabilitation Services.

About the Role:

We are seeking enthusiastic and dedicated Occupational Therapists to work in our acute and rehabilitation services. As a Band 6 Occupational Therapist, you will be part of a multi-disciplinary therapy team providing a high-quality therapy service over seven days.

You will be required to participate in a weekend rota aligned to your clinical area, which involves working a weekend shift approximately every six weeks with compensatory rest days.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide occupational therapy services to patients in acute and rehabilitation settings
  • Work collaboratively with the multi-disciplinary therapy team to achieve patient-centered goals
  • Participate in clinical audit and research to improve therapy services
  • Document patient information accurately and legibly using the SOAP note writing system
  • Communicate effectively with patients, families, and healthcare professionals
Requirements:
  • Diploma or Degree in Occupational Therapy
  • Continued Professional Development, including evidence of reflective practice and clinical experience gained
  • 18 months post-qualification Occupational Therapy clinical experience, at least a year of which must have been in an acute setting
  • 1 year's previous NHS experience either as a qualified Occupational Therapist (substantive or locum) or as an undergraduate Occupational Therapy Student
  • Experience of general assessment and intervention with patients in a physical setting
  • Ability to work at moderate to high levels of physical activity
  • Basic Splinting/Hand Therapy Skills
  • Understanding of Clinical Governance and implications for Occupational Therapy services
