London, Greater London, United Kingdom CHURCH OF ENGLAND Full time

The Church of England is dedicated to sharing the message of Jesus Christ in a contemporary context for the people of England.

As the Established Church, it holds a distinctive position and duty to engage with national matters not only through its places of worship, educational institutions, and various church expressions but also through its influential role at both local and national levels, including its representation in the House of Lords.

The Faith and Public Life Department is tasked with overseeing the Church of England's engagement with public policy, ethical considerations, and political discourse, as well as fostering relationships with other faith communities and providing theological support for the Church's initiatives.

In this capacity, your focus will be on leveraging the Church of England's unique status to contribute a Christian perspective on public policy, ethics, and the promotion of the common good.

You will be instrumental in cultivating and maintaining constructive partnerships with various churches and faith organizations, both within the UK and internationally.

As a respected representative, you will engage with bishops, scholars, and other stakeholders on the integration of theology into public matters.

Essential qualifications include:

  • Demonstrated experience in building relationships and collaborating with leaders across political, business, or faith sectors to achieve strategic objectives.
  • In-depth understanding of the Church of England, its teachings, and the diversity of its traditions, along with a commitment to its mission and values.
  • Proven leadership skills in forming and guiding teams, fostering high performance in a complex environment, while ensuring all staff are supported in developing agile, engaged, and inclusive teams.

This position has an occupational requirement for the individual to be a Christian, in accordance with the Equality Act.

Our Belonging and Inclusion Strategy aspires for every member of the National Church Institutions (NCIs) to feel a sense of belonging and to be valued for their unique contributions.

We believe that our dedication to belonging and inclusion is fundamental to our progress and success.
