Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced individual to join our team as a GP Training Programme Director. This is an exciting opportunity to take part in the development of Postgraduate General Practice and Primary Care Education throughout the West Yorkshire region of HEEYH.

Main Duties of the Job

The GP Training Programme Director will work with the Deputy Head of School and other colleagues in leading the delivery of a wide range of functions to ensure the quality of training within the scheme. This includes working with learners or doctors in training in an educational context, having a thorough understanding of the work of general practitioners and other healthcare practitioners, and knowledge of adult education theory and delivery in service.

Job Responsibilities

The Training Programme Director will work across the spectrum of health and where relevant, social care, within the context of a team, so that the provision of education reflects changing service models. This will deliver an integrated workforce comprising individuals from a spectrum of professional and other backgrounds.

Person Specification
  • Primary clinical healthcare qualification
  • Membership/Fellowship of a College, Faculty, professional association and/or regulatory body
  • Attendance at courses aimed to support educational development at an appropriate level

The ideal candidate will have a strong sense of vision and ability to innovate, with excellent interpersonal, communication, written, and presentation skills. They will also have the ability to quickly establish personal and professional credibility with colleagues and other key stakeholders.
