Work Environment
You will be part of a supportive living environment, working closely with a small group of residents. Your role will involve assisting them with daily living activities, personal care, and engaging them in various enriching activities.
Activities Include:
- Facilitating outings and community involvement
- Supporting hobbies such as art, swimming, and horse riding
- Encouraging participation in local events and activities
Shift Details
Shifts will vary, including early morning, afternoon, and evening hours, along with occasional sleep-ins or waking nights. Flexibility is essential.
Key Responsibilities
As a Support Worker, your daily tasks will include:
- Promoting the independence of the individuals we support
- Assisting with daily living tasks, including cooking and cleaning
- Organizing and leading activities within the home and community
- Supporting residents in developing life skills and personal interests
- Ensuring the safety and well-being of residents
- Assisting with personal care and medication management
- Maintaining accurate records and contributing to service evaluations
Ideal Candidate Profile
While experience with learning disabilities and complex needs is advantageous, it is not a prerequisite. What is crucial is your ability to:
- Demonstrate passion, care, and enthusiasm
- Exhibit flexibility, patience, and a non-judgmental attitude
- Work effectively as part of a team
- Communicate effectively with residents and colleagues
- Perform physical tasks associated with the role
