Job Summary

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Specialty Grade Psychiatrist to join our Perinatal Mental Health team in Barnet. The successful candidate will work alongside two substantive consultants and receive supervision from one of the consultants.

Main Responsibilities
  • Conduct mental health assessments and reviews, as well as domiciliary assessments as required.
  • Support clinical governance projects, particularly quality improvement and audits within the service.
  • Ensure timely completion of administrative tasks, including clinic letters, entering Dialog + care plans and reviews, and risk assessments on the electronic patient record system.
  • Assist with serious incident investigations and complaints as requested.
  • Stay up-to-date with mandatory training.
About the Role

This is a 0.8 WTE fixed-term contract for 12 months, available from 4 November 2024. The successful candidate will be part of a dynamic team committed to providing cutting-edge local, preventative, co-produced, person-centred mental health and wellbeing support to our service users and communities.

Person Specification
  • Full registration with the General Medical Council (GMC) and a license to practice.
  • Membership of the Royal College of Psychiatrists or equivalent higher qualification in psychiatry.
  • Training up to date to be an approved trainer/clinical supervisor in line with GMC recognition and approval of trainers.
  • Experience in the assessment and treatment of complex clinical cases involving severe and enduring mental illness and significant risk histories.
  • Knowledge of the Mental Health Act, Mental Capacity Act, and safeguarding practices.
