Job Title:
PART TIME, Special Educational Needs (SEN) Support Assistant (Temp to Perm Role)

We are in search of a committed and enthusiastic SEN Support Assistant to become a vital part of our team, contributing positively to the educational journeys of our students.


Position Overview:

In the role of SEN Support Assistant, you will partner closely with the school's SENCO (Special Educational Needs Coordinator) to provide essential support to students with special educational needs, ensuring they receive the customized assistance necessary for their academic and social success.

Key Responsibilities:
1. Deliver individualized or small group support to students with SEN, both within the classroom and in other settings.
2. Assist classroom educators in executing personalized education plans (IEPs) and necessary accommodations for students with SEN.
3. Collaborate with the SENCO, teaching staff, and parents to track student progress and modify support strategies as required.
4. Aid students in developing crucial life skills, fostering independence, and building self-confidence.

Qualifications and Skills:
- Previous experience working with children or young adults with special educational needs is preferred.
- A patient, empathetic demeanor and a sincere passion for addressing the diverse needs of students with SEN.
- Relevant qualifications in education, psychology, or a related discipline are beneficial but not mandatory.
- Openness to participate in relevant training and ongoing professional development.
- A driver's license and access to a vehicle are advantageous but not essential.
