**Job Summary**

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced tourism professional to join our team at Sheffield City Council as a Senior Project Officer. The successful candidate will play a key role in leading the South Yorkshire Local Visitor Economy Partnership (SYLVEP) and contributing to the delivery of the South Yorkshire Destination Management Plan.

**Key Responsibilities**

  • Manage the growth plan for the SYLVEP, working closely with tourism leads across the four South Yorkshire local authorities and the South Yorkshire Mayoral Combined Authority.
  • Contribute to the development of national tourism strategy, with a focus on supporting visitor economy businesses to grow and connect them to national initiatives.
  • Develop and implement strategies to promote the visitor economy, including report writing, presentation, and communication skills.
  • Work collaboratively with stakeholders to identify regional commonalities and turn them into opportunities to create a stronger visitor economy.

**Requirements**

  • Proven knowledge of the tourism industry, with experience in project management and stakeholder engagement.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to work effectively with diverse stakeholders.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team, with a strong focus on meeting deadlines and delivering results.
