About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Data Centre Engineer to join our team at Onnec. As a Data Centre Engineer, you will be responsible for the maintenance and support of our IT infrastructure, networks, and connectivity.

Key Responsibilities
  • Work a 24x7x365 shift pattern of 4 days on 4 days off, 4 nights on 4 nights off
  • Manage change control and incident management
  • Track and manage assets, supervise and escort 3rd party vendors
  • Plan and implement IT hardware installations, decommission network hardware and structured cabling
  • Update documentation and inventories, complete service requests within SLA
  • Ensure compliance with Onnec's and client health and safety procedures, quality standards, and approved processes
Requirements
  • Experience working in high-risk environments and data centres
  • Knowledge of DCIM tools and standards (desirable)
  • Experience with ServiceNow, Remedy, or other ticketing systems (desirable)
  • Attention to detail, proactive, and sound knowledge of infrastructure technologies and networking concepts
  • Competent in MS Office and helpdesk/service delivery applications
  • Able to work under pressure, on own initiative, and unsupervised
  • A flexible approach to shift patterns, ability to communicate clearly at all levels
  • Strong organisational, interpersonal, and administrative skills
