Job Description

Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Engineering Manager to lead our multi-skilled team of engineers across 6 locations. As a key member of our operations team, you will be responsible for managing and leading the maintenance strategy for the company, including capital expenditure, engineering projects, and resource planning.

Key Responsibilities

  • Manage and lead the maintenance strategy for the company, including capital expenditure, engineering projects, and resource planning.
  • Drive a culture of continuous improvement, reviewing processes, procedures, and standards across the site, leading by example, and taking a proactive approach to implementing change.
  • Be in strict control over the engineering budget, spend, ordering of products, capex projects, and resource planning to meet strict deadlines.
  • Support the delivery of capital and strategic projects.
  • Manage contractors and third-party suppliers while encouraging a safety-first and compliant environment across the site and with third parties.

Requirements

  • A degree or equivalent and relevant professional qualifications or experience.
  • Proven and extensive experience in a similar process manufacturing, preferably animal feed or similar industry.
  • Experience of managing a multi-site team and ability to travel.
  • Extensive engineering management experience.
  • Project Management experience.
  • A proven track record of holding management position with capital expenditure responsibility.
  • Experience of all aspects of people management.
  • Experience of delivering efficiency improvements.
  • Proven understanding of Health and Safety practices.
  • Analytical skills to embed and evaluate data and performance/operation metrics.
  • Proven organisational and leadership abilities.
  • Excellent inter-personal, time management, and decision-making skills.

Desirable

  • Grain/Powder Handling, Milling, Extrusion & Pellet manufacturing experience.
  • Leadership/management training.
  • Thorough knowledge of the company and its products and processes.
  • Lean Manufacturing experience.
