Job Description

Contract Scotland is seeking an experienced Design Coordinator to join their team. The successful candidate will work with a reputable Glasgow-based design and build contractor, specializing in providing a comprehensive construction experience and maintaining a positive industry reputation.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage and coordinate the design process from inception to completion on various building and refurbishment projects.
  • Collaborate with architects, engineers, and stakeholders to develop design concepts and plans.
  • Coordinate and manage design schedules, ensuring all project deadlines are met.
  • Ensure all design work adheres to relevant building codes, regulations, and industry standards.
  • Support the Design Manager and project teams in resolving design-related issues or conflicts.
  • Monitor design budgets and assist in cost estimation and resource allocation.
  • Stay updated on industry trends, technologies, and best practices to continually improve design processes.

Requirements:

  • A degree in Architecture, Structural Engineering, Design, or a related field.
  • Demonstrable experience in a similar role, preferably with a main contractor.
  • Strong knowledge of design principles, construction methods, and building regulations.
