Main Duties of the Job

As a Bank Chef at Barchester Healthcare, you will be responsible for assisting the Head Chef in creating menus that meet the dietary needs of our residents. You will work closely with the team to deliver high-quality, wholesome dishes that are cooked to the highest standards. Your role will also involve managing the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence, working with fresh produce, and creating a warm and welcoming environment within our home.

Job Responsibilities
  • Assist the Head Chef in creating menus that meet the dietary needs of our residents
  • Work closely with the team to deliver high-quality, wholesome dishes that are cooked to the highest standards
  • Manage the kitchen in the Head Chef's absence
  • Work with fresh produce to deliver high-quality and wholesome dishes
  • Create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
Requirements
  • A personable and warm approach with a genuine interest in the wellbeing of residents
  • Hold City & Guilds/NVQ/SVQ or equivalent
  • Experience in helping lead and inspire a team
  • A good understanding of nutrition
  • Experience of working with fresh seasonal food
  • The ability to create a warm and welcoming environment within our home
  • Good understanding of HACCP
