Job Summary:

The Vessel Superintendent will be responsible for ensuring the seaworthiness and regulatory compliance of all company-owned and managed vessels. This includes maintaining their "In Class" status at all times, adhering to company IMS policies and procedures, and managing the technical operations of assigned vessels within budget constraints.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Oversee the safe and efficient operation and maintenance of all shipboard mechanical, electrical machinery, and navigational electronics.
  • Ensure compliance of all vessel equipment, systems, and structures with SOLAS, IMO, Class & Flag administration regulations, and environmental legislation.
  • Specify, arrange, supervise, and report on vessel repair and maintenance, including dry-docking.
  • Maintain the company's Planned Maintenance, Purchasing, and Defect Reporting systems up to date both on board and in the office.
  • Review electronic Engine Room Log sheets and monitor vessel condition.
  • Manage the purchase of vessel spares, engine room stores, and contract services within budget.
  • Provide pre-port call briefings on work to be done and attending contractors.
  • Liaise with Classification, Port State, and Flag State representatives regarding legislation and surveys.
Requirements:
  • Sea Going Chief Engineer, or equivalent, with relevant offshore support experience.
  • Prior experience in a similar role is preferred.
  • Project management experience in dry docks and new builds.
