Position Overview:
We are seeking a Senior Quality Analyst to join our Quality Department at Muller Bridgwater.
The primary objective of this role is to enhance quality performance through comprehensive analysis, advanced subject expertise, and testing efficacy, while continuously striving for improvement in alignment with Muller values. This includes supporting the development of Laboratory Technicians and the Quality Management System.
Contract Type: Full Time / Permanent (42 hours per week)
Shift Schedule: 4 on 4 off, including 2 days and 2 nights (7-7)
Location: Bridgwater
Key Responsibilities:
- Ensure timely completion of laboratory tasks to the required standards.
- Conduct all testing accurately and punctually in accordance with MTS, including additional trial work and annual surveillance testing.
- Perform daily calibrations and controls, addressing any issues that arise.
- Maintain an organized and tidy laboratory environment with a 'clean as you go' approach.
- Monitor and maintain stock levels, ensuring proper rotation.
- Effectively prioritize workload.
- Complete all documentation, whether electronic or hard copy, in full.
Muller Responsibilities:
- Actively engage in problem-solving and troubleshooting through data analysis and evaluation, fostering a similar approach among lab technicians.
- Exhibit sufficient knowledge of the laboratory Quality Management System (QMS) and contribute to its development and maintenance, as well as laboratory accreditation.
- Demonstrate a commitment to continuous improvement in quality-based performance.
- Complete internal audits punctually and to the required standards.
- Identify and report any quality issues to the team leader.
- Ensure timely completion, reporting, and investigation of internal and external proficiency testing to a high standard.
- Mentor and train Laboratory Technicians.
- Support central team-driven projects aimed at developing new methods, systems, and processes.
Essential Skills and Qualifications:
- Proficient in microbiological methods.
- Experience with Total Viable Count (Petrifilm) and Enterobacteriaceae (Petrifilm).
Previous Laboratory Experience:
- Aseptic techniques.
- Auditing experience.
- Knowledge of lab safety protocols.
- Familiarity with NIR technology (FOSS).
- Equipment calibration and maintenance skills.
- Understanding of laboratory accreditation standards, such as CLAS.
Desirable Skills:
- Pipetting skills.
- HACCP Level 2 certification.
- In-depth knowledge of microbiology and dairy chemistry.
