At Freight Mate Ltd, our Logistics Coordinators play a crucial role in our operations by facilitating and overseeing new bookings in accordance with company protocols.


Key Responsibilities of the Logistics Coordinator:

  • Serve as the primary contact for all Drivers and customer inquiries throughout the day, ensuring timely deliveries and assisting in the resolution of any challenges. Take orders via phone and enter them into the computer systems.
  • Effectively negotiate pricing with clients.
  • Assign routes to our Drivers for the next day, managing their expectations accordingly.
  • Ensure compliance of all vehicles, assisting in the servicing and maintenance processes.
  • Prepare daily reports for the office and document any issues encountered.
  • Generate purchase orders as necessary.

Requirements for the Logistics Coordinator:

  • Maintain a consistent level of performance, adhering to time and cost guidelines.
  • Strong organizational skills with the ability to multitask and prioritize effectively.
  • Recent experience in a similar position is beneficial but not essential.
  • Ability to work efficiently under pressure and quickly provide solutions to problems.
  • Excellent communication skills, both written and verbal.
  • Strong customer service skills, with negotiation and tele-sales capabilities.
  • Proficient in Microsoft applications, especially Excel.
