About the Mechanical Engineer Role
We are seeking a skilled and experienced Mechanical Engineer to join our team at Wren Kitchens' manufacturing facility. The successful candidate will work a combination of mornings and afternoons on a rotating shift pattern.
Main Responsibilities:
- To perform planned and reactive maintenance tasks to ensure the smooth operation of our manufacturing equipment.
- To provide rapid response to equipment breakdowns and faults, minimizing downtime and ensuring production continuity.
- To conduct fault finding, troubleshooting, and maintenance of conveyor systems, equipment, and plant, utilizing engineering disciplines to optimize production efficiency.
- To follow up on any faults identified during planned maintenance activities.
- To maintain and improve engineering standards to maximize the effectiveness and reliability of our factory and associated systems.
- To assist specialist subcontractors with PPM and reactive works, ensuring seamless collaboration and efficient project delivery.
- To adhere to company QA and site procedures in all aspects of the role.
- To ensure compliance with company and site Health & Safety procedures at all times.
- To maintain all company-issued tools in a safe and serviceable condition.
- To contribute to the continued success and growth of Wren Kitchens with a proactive and can-do attitude.
- To undertake any additional tasks assigned by management to support the business.
- To maintain a clean and organized workspace, adhering to company standards.
About You
We are looking for a Mechanical Engineer with:
- A minimum Level 3 qualification in mechanical engineering and relevant experience.
- PLC qualification.
- The ability to work well under pressure and meet deadlines.
- Excellent verbal and written communication skills.
- Strong technical skills and knowledge.
- Problem-solving skills and the ability to think critically.
- Team working skills and the ability to collaborate effectively.
- The ability to work independently and take initiative.
