Job Summary:

Torfaen County Borough Council is seeking a highly skilled Senior Planner to join our Planning Policy and Implementation Team. As a key member of our team, you will play a crucial role in shaping the future development of the area and delivering the Council's regeneration and growth aspirations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Contribute to the development of the Council's Replacement Local Development Plan, working towards the Preferred Strategy stage.
  • Collaborate with the Planning Policy and Implementation Team to deliver the Council's regeneration and growth aspirations.
  • Provide expert advice on planning policy and legislation, ensuring compliance with relevant regulations.
  • Work closely with stakeholders to ensure effective communication and collaboration.
  • Contribute to the development of planning policies and strategies, ensuring they are aligned with the Council's objectives.

Requirements:

  • Recognised degree-level qualification in Town Planning or equivalent.
  • At least 2 years of experience in planning policy, with a strong understanding of planning legislation and policy.
  • Basic knowledge of current planning issues, practice, and legislation.
  • Ability to travel to meet the needs of the service.
