About the Role

We are seeking an experienced professional to join our team as an Apprenticeship Program Manager at Smiths Group plc. As a key member of our Learning & Talent Development team, you will play a critical role in shaping the future of our organization by developing and implementing effective early career strategies.

Key Responsibilities
  • Develop and Implement Early Career Strategies: Design and execute operational plans to achieve annual goals, focusing on recruitment, onboarding, and management of early career talent within the business.
  • Build Relationships with Educational Institutions: Establish and maintain relationships with local schools, colleges, and universities to source a pool of candidates, attending career fairs and other events to promote our employer brand.
  • Curate Training Programs: Identify and select suitable training providers and external suppliers to deliver various Apprenticeship courses across Level 3-7, primarily focusing on Mechanical Engineering, Customer Operations, and Digital skills.
  • Support Professional Development: Design and implement programs to support the growth of early career talent within the organization, providing guidance, mentorship, and resources to help individuals navigate their career paths and achieve their developmental goals.
  • Collaborate with Cross-Functional Teams: Work closely with HR and Functions to assess early talent needs, liaise with Talent Acquisition to source and onboard new cohorts, and manage the Company's apprenticeship levy account.
  • Enhance Employer Brand: Act as an ambassador for the Early Career program, working with Marketing to build the Company's reputation as an Employer of Choice for early career entrants.
