Cultivate Philanthropic Growth as an Associate Director

Muhlenberg College seeks a passionate and driven Associate Director of Annual Giving to lead our efforts in cultivating relationships with current students, young alumni, and emerging philanthropists.

Reporting to the Associate Vice President for Development, you will play a pivotal role in developing and executing comprehensive annual giving strategies that drive revenue growth and participation rates.

  • Portfolio Management & Philanthropy: You'll manage a portfolio of prospects, engaging them through cultivation visits, solicitation strategies, and stewardship initiatives. Collaborate with the Associate Vice President for Development and Assistant Director for Annual Giving Operations to execute Muhlenberg's Mulementum day of giving program and Mule Madness athletic fundraising campaign.
  • Student Engagement: Educate students on philanthropy's impact and oversee programs like the Red Door Dialers phonathon. Coordinate student philanthropy efforts through the senior class campaign and organize engaging events such as Senior Wine & Cheese, Champagne Brunch, Bell Tower tours, and more.
  • Alumni Relations: Partner with Alumni Affairs for Alumni Weekend outreach and serve as a Development liaison for Reunion Giving. Provide timely updates on philanthropic results to the Alumni Board and design, develop, and implement a robust Class Leadership Committee Chair (CLCC) program. Manage programming, education, solicitation, and stewardship for Young Alumni appeals, Phonathons, and T.H.A.W (Toast Heard Around the World).
  • Advancement Communications & Services: Manage Advancement Communication project data to ensure accuracy and efficiency. Collaborate with the Advancement Services department on creating lists and reports for various appeals and activities. Build strong relationships with key departments, administrators, and faculty members to foster a collaborative spirit regarding fundraising efforts.

Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's degree required.
  • Demonstrated understanding of fundraising techniques, volunteer management, donor relations, and stewardship.
  • Excellent analytical, organizational, and planning skills.
  • Commitment to diversity, equity, inclusion, and belonging.
  • Experience in higher education or non-profits preferred.
  • Ability to work independently while contributing to a collaborative Annual Giving team.
  • Proficiency with Google Workspace and fundraising software.
