About Our Teams

We have various commercial positions based across Perth, Glasgow, Aberdeen, and Inverness. These positions range across our Investment Planning, Control Centre, and Strategic Energy Planning teams.

Investment Planning

Our Investment Planning team is responsible for growth-related capital investment throughout the lifecycle of a project from initial development through to energisation. They undertake power system analysis to specify system requirements and inform detailed engineering designs.

Control Centre

Our Control Centre team is the heart of SSEN Transmission's daily operations for the overall secure transmission of electrical energy and for the safety of SSE field engineers working on-site. They constantly balance various key factors including the availability of electrical components found at over 150 substations.

Strategic Energy Planning

Our Strategic Energy Planning team is responsible for the strategic system planning of the transmission network in the north of Scotland in compliance with the national electricity planning standards. They play a critical role in determining the network requirements and network projects to facilitate the connection of renewable generation and other low carbon technologies to the electricity grid.
