Role Overview
Service Care Solutions Ltd is seeking a Strategic Finance Business Partner to collaborate with a Local Authority in London on a temporary basis. The successful candidate will assist the Head of Financial Planning & Business Partnering in steering and coordinating the medium-term financial strategy while providing guidance to senior budget holders to mitigate financial risks and uphold the fiscal integrity of the organization.

This position includes oversight of up to 5 direct reports.

Key Responsibilities:

  1. Facilitate the formulation of the Medium-Term Financial Plan, ensuring it is supported by comprehensive and precise documentation.
  2. Direct and coordinate the development of detailed budget forecasts, ensuring their execution aligns with the established Medium-Term Financial Plan.
  3. Oversee the preparation of statutory submissions or ad hoc inquiries related to Financial Planning or Budgets.
  4. Cultivate and sustain relationships with key stakeholders, both internal and external, actively engaging in relevant professional networks and information exchanges.

Candidate Qualifications

  1. Must possess a CIPFA/CCAB Qualified Accountant designation or equivalent.
  2. Significant experience in Local Authority or Government finance is required.
  3. Proven track record of advising and challenging budget holders, managers, and finance colleagues.
  4. Experience in delivering strategic financial counsel and leading a team on Medium-Term Financial Planning.
  5. Excellent communication skills with the ability to work independently as well as collaboratively within a team.
