Behaviour Support Assistant Required

We are seeking a compassionate and resilient individual to join our dedicated team as a Behaviour Support Assistant. This role involves working closely with teachers and behaviour specialists to implement behaviour management strategies and interventions tailored to meet the individual needs of students.

Key Responsibilities:
  1. Provide one-on-one and small group support to students with challenging behaviours, helping them develop essential social and emotional skills and promoting positive behaviour choices.
  2. Collaborate with school staff to create and implement behaviour support plans, ensuring consistency and continuity of support across different settings.
  3. Serve as a positive role model and mentor, building trusting relationships with students and helping them build confidence, self-esteem, and resilience.
Requirements:
  • Previous experience working with students with behavioural challenges is preferred but not required.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport and establish positive relationships with students, staff, and parents.
  • Patience, empathy, and a calm demeanour in challenging situations.
  • Flexibility and adaptability to meet the diverse and evolving needs of students and the school community.
