Position OverviewWe are currently seeking a dedicated Quality Engineer to enhance our conscientious team. The successful candidate will be responsible for:
Key Responsibilities- Addressing all customer quality and engineering concerns, providing proactive support and solutions.
- Thoroughly understanding customer requirements and expectations, ensuring clear communication with internal teams.
- Serving as the primary contact for customers, internal teams, and suppliers regarding quality and engineering matters throughout the product lifecycle.
- Managing product quality and engineering requirements through ISIR, capability studies, AAR, and other processes in support of NPI, APQP, and PPAP.
- Defining and supporting the project management and introduction of necessary testing equipment and gauging to meet quality standards.
- Optimizing measurement techniques to ensure a stable and capable production process, utilizing SPC and supporting DOE activities as needed.
- Participating in design reviews and prototype development.
- Leading the preparation of Control Plans and supporting D/PFMEA reviews, documenting outputs according to NPI, APQP, PPAP, and company/customer procedures.
- Providing training to production teams regarding customer expectations and quality standards.
- Managing the recording, progression, response, and resolution of customer concerns using 8D or other problem-solving methodologies.
- Supporting Supplier APQP and fostering supplier development and improvement initiatives.
- Overseeing the management and reporting of customer-specific KPIs related to Reject PPM and CAR performance.
- Conducting internal and external audits.
- Assisting with product launches through PPIR reports, Interim PSW, and alerts.
- Monitoring warranty acceptance rates and ensuring timely responses to pallets.
- Negotiating to rectify warranty billing issues.
- Managing ongoing warranty projects and maintaining zero aged open current model projects.
- Demonstrated experience in Quality Engineering within the Automotive 1st Tier sector.
- Relevant qualifications such as a Degree, HND, HNC, IQA, or equivalent.
- Previous experience with plastics is preferred.
- Familiarity with Jaguar and Land Rover is advantageous.
- Knowledge of customer and automotive industry systems and standards, including IATF16949, ISO9001, APQP, and PPAP.
- Strong customer orientation.
- Excellent analytical and problem-solving abilities.
- Effective influencing and negotiation skills.
- Flexibility and adaptability in a dynamic environment.
