We are seeking an experienced and skilled Clinical Education Sister/Charge Nurse to join our Pre-Operative Care team at University Hospitals Bristol and Weston NHS Foundation Trust. As a key member of our team, you will play a vital role in ensuring the highest standards of patient care and safety in the pre-operative period.
Key Responsibilities- Assess, plan, implement, and evaluate patient care and pre-operative patient care, and plan for safe and timely discharge following surgery.
- Develop and utilize evidence-based and patient-centered assessment skills to ensure patients are fit for surgery.
- Communicate effectively and maintain confidentiality with patient carers and the multi-disciplinary team.
- Provide accurate, timely, and contemporary records of care and treatment in line with Trust record-keeping policy and NMC.
- Work within Trust Nursing policies and procedures and professional boundaries to undertake all appropriate aspects of nursing care required.
- Promote and maintain a safe environment for patients, administering medicines in accordance with Trust policy and promoting a clean environment and the prevention of hospital-acquired infections.
- Respond positively and act promptly to resolve problems/issues for patients/carers, utilizing complaints procedures and PALs where appropriate.
This is an exciting opportunity to join a close and supportive department, working alongside numerous multi-disciplinary teams to provide pre and post-surgical care to patients and their families. As a Clinical Education Sister/Charge Nurse, you will have the opportunity to develop your skills and expertise in pre-operative care, working with a wide variety of healthcare professionals across the Trust.
