We are seeking a qualified Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner to become a vital member of our team as a Band 6 Assistant Team Supervisor for Surgical Services within our newly established Planned Care Centre.

Our commitment is to ensure that every patient receives exceptional care and support, which has led us to initiate a comprehensive restructuring of our facilities.

The East Midlands Planned Care Centre represents a significant investment aimed at enhancing patient care and minimizing waiting times for the community.

Following the successful admission of our initial patients, we are now in the process of expanding our services to accommodate a growing demand.

Upon full operation, the Centre will feature advanced surgical facilities, including multiple operating theatres, outpatient rooms, and dedicated wards for elective procedures.

Key Responsibilities

We are in search of a proactive and enthusiastic professional to join our developing team. The Surgical Services will encompass a variety of specialties, providing care six days a week.

The ideal candidate will be responsible for delivering comprehensive peri-operative care for elective procedures, necessitating relevant experience or a robust skill set.

The Centre is designed to handle a substantial patient volume daily, creating a dynamic and fast-paced work environment. We require a motivated and adaptable individual who can lead by example and mentor new team members.

The successful candidate must exhibit strong organizational capabilities, including effective time management and the ability to prioritize clinical and administrative tasks efficiently.

Additionally, they will play a crucial role in the clinical leadership and management of the team, fostering the development of colleagues and ensuring the delivery of high-quality patient care.

Job Responsibilities

  • Serve as a visible clinical leader, providing guidance and inspiration to the multidisciplinary team.
  • Oversee the assessment, planning, implementation, and evaluation of patient care programs.

  • Assume charge of the unit in the absence of the Team Leader, maintaining accountability.

Qualifications

Essential

  • Registered Nurse or Operating Department Practitioner - First Level
  • Completion of a practice assessor preparation day and recent experience in supporting learners.

Desirable

  • Participation in a clinical leadership program.
  • Degree in nursing or a related health field.

Experience

  • Extensive post-registration experience in the specialty.
  • Strong understanding of quality and safety management principles.
