Democratic Services Officer

About the Role:
We are seeking a highly organized and detail-oriented Democratic Services Officer to join our team at Horsham District Council. As a key member of our Democratic Services team, you will provide administrative support to committees, sub-committees, and advisory groups, ensuring the smooth delivery of elections and council decision-making processes.
Key Responsibilities:
- Provide administrative support to committees, sub-committees, and advisory groups, including collating agendas and taking concise, accurate minutes.
- Support electoral registration and elections processes, ensuring the accuracy and integrity of electoral data.
- Assist with the wider running of the Democratic Services team, including updating information on the Council's website and providing information and support to Councillors and colleagues.
- Cover evening meetings and work additional hours during election periods, as required.
Requirements:
- Excellent administration and minute-taking skills, with a keen eye for detail and accuracy.
- Pro-active approach to work, with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to prioritize work and be flexible, responding to the needs of the team at all times.
- Commitment to delivering high-quality customer service, with a focus on meeting the needs of Councillors, colleagues, and the wider community.
