Job Summary

We are seeking an experienced Sous Chef to join our team at the White Bear theatre pub. As a key member of our kitchen team, you will be responsible for leading and developing a team of chefs, ensuring the highest standards of food quality and presentation, and contributing to the success of our culinary operations.

Key Responsibilities

  • Leadership and Team Development
    • Lead and motivate a team of chefs to achieve exceptional results
    • Develop and implement training programs to enhance team skills and knowledge
  • Culinary Excellence
    • Ensure the highest standards of food quality, presentation, and consistency
    • Develop and implement new menu ideas and specials
  • Operational Management
    • Manage kitchen staff rota, training, and health and safety
    • Monitor and control kitchen costs, including labor and inventory
  • Collaboration and Communication
    • Work closely with the Head Chef and other kitchen staff to achieve culinary goals
    • Communicate effectively with the front-of-house team to ensure seamless service

Requirements

  • Proven experience as a Sous Chef or Senior CDP in a high-volume kitchen environment
  • Strong leadership and team development skills
  • Excellent culinary skills and knowledge of food safety and hygiene
  • Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment
  • Strong communication and interpersonal skills
