Join Our Team as an Innovation Director

Oxford Innovation Space, a leading provider of innovation spaces, is seeking a highly skilled and strategic thinker to fill the role of Innovation Director at our Innovation Centre Knowledge Gateway in Colchester, Essex. As a dynamic community of innovators, start-ups, and SMEs, we are looking for someone who can provide high-quality strategic business coaching and innovation support to businesses based in the centre.

Key Responsibilities:
  • Provide pragmatic and high-quality strategic business coaching to businesses based in the centre.
  • Coordinate training workshops and connect businesses with the University's expertise and research strengths.
  • Build relevant business, investment, and innovation networks for ICKG and drive the benefits of collaborative working.
  • Deliver on several targets relating to business growth and development and innovation activity.
Requirements:
  • A successful track record of achievement in enterprise and innovation development.
  • Previous experience of delivering business management and development as a consultant or business coach to early-stage businesses.
  • Understanding of Entrepreneurial Ecosystems and ability to build a network of regional stakeholders.
  • Negotiation of commercial partnerships.
  • A track record in budgeting, forecasting, and the management of financial and other resources.
  • Providing business coaching and an active listener who can support people through problems with a coaching mindset.
  • Data and ROI driven, with a strong understanding of contract delivery KPIs and ability to provide and interpret information in management reports.
  • Strategic thinker with strong business acumen and a detailed knowledge of the key functions within a business.
  • Strong networking and relationship building skills with a personal network beneficial to the business support needs of the role.
  • A passion for innovation and solving problems.
