About the Role

We are seeking a highly motivated and compassionate Mental Health Support Worker to join our team. As a key member of our multi-disciplinary team, you will work closely with individuals, families, and carers to provide assessment, treatment, and support in the community.

Your primary responsibility will be to work intensively with people to support their recovery, prevent hospital admission, and facilitate hospital discharge. You will also be involved in supporting the assessment of carers as part of a Devon Memory Service assessment and ensuring safe transfer and administration of ECT to patients while they are inpatients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide emotional support, advice, information, and education to individuals, families, and carers.
  • Develop and implement personalized recovery care plans to promote mental well-being and quality of life.
  • Work collaboratively with other healthcare professionals to ensure seamless care coordination and effective communication.
  • Monitor mental health through observations and report changes to qualified staff to update care plans.
  • Participate in training and development opportunities to enhance skills and knowledge in mental health settings.
Requirements
  • Basic Education
  • QCF Level 3 in Health and Social Care or equivalent qualification
  • Care Certificate training within the first 3 months of joining
  • Previous care experience with people who have Mental Health difficulties
  • Awareness of safeguarding principles
  • Enhanced DBS Check
