Position: Python Quantitative Software Engineer

Location: London, United Kingdom

A prominent player in the field of quantitative trading is looking for a skilled Python Quantitative Software Engineer to become a vital part of its trading division in London. This position focuses on enhancing current functionalities, bolstering the reliability of live trading operations, and refining research infrastructures.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and integrate new software modules for live trading and research activities.
  • Design and optimize data-heavy ETL (Extract, Transform, Load) pipelines.
  • Analyze and enhance the performance of the existing codebase.
  • Create and sustain continuous integration workflows.
  • Improve system reliability and visibility through effective monitoring and alerting mechanisms.
  • Collaborate closely with quantitative researchers to enhance the profitability of trading strategies.
  • Build and refine Python-based tools and simulation/backtesting frameworks.
  • Oversee and manage quantitative research tasks.
  • Assist the global research team with research initiatives related to the EMEA region.

Qualifications:

Essential:

  • Bachelor's degree in Computer Science, Engineering, or a related discipline (Master's degree is preferred).
  • Over 5 years of professional experience with core Python and statistical libraries such as NumPy, Pandas, and Polars.
  • Familiarity with a strongly typed programming language, preferably C++.
  • Excellent problem-solving skills, along with strong communication and teamwork capabilities in a dynamic, collaborative, and distributed setting.

Desirable:

  • Experience with scripting languages like Bash.
  • Familiarity with Google Cloud Platform.
  • Knowledge of workflow management and task scheduling tools.
  • Understanding of Equities and Equity Derivatives trading.
