Job Summary:

Prospero Teaching is seeking a dedicated and passionate SEN Teacher to support the development and success of students with various additional needs in Essex and Kent.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Lesson Planning and Delivery: Develop and implement engaging and differentiated lessons that cater to the individual needs of students with SEN, utilizing a variety of teaching methods to accommodate different learning styles.
  • Classroom Management: Maintain a safe and tidy classroom environment, ensuring a positive learning atmosphere.
  • Assessment and Evaluation: Regularly assess and evaluate students' progress through observations, tests, and assessments, providing constructive feedback and reports.
  • Individual Education Plans (IEPs): Create, implement, and review IEPs for students with SEN, setting achievable and realistic goals.
  • Record-Keeping: Maintain accurate and up-to-date records of students' progress, attendance, and behavior.
  • Communication and Collaboration: Work closely with other school staff, parents, and external agencies to support students' learning and development.
  • Professional Development: Engage in continuous professional development to stay current with best practices and new teaching methods in SEN education.
  • Behaviour Management: Implement effective behavior management strategies to promote a positive and inclusive classroom environment.
  • Support and Guidance: Provide emotional and academic support to students, helping them to build confidence and develop social skills.
  • Inclusion Promotion: Encourage participation of all pupils in learning and extracurricular activities, promoting inclusion and diversity.
  • Resource Utilization: Effectively utilize technical and educational resources to enhance teaching and support learning.

Requirements:

  • Clear enhanced DBS and QTS required.
  • Experience as a SEN Teacher, working with pupils with various additional needs.
