This is a permanent position.

Role Overview:

The Field Maintenance Technician plays a crucial role in executing both scheduled and urgent maintenance tasks across various site locations.

As the primary contact for all maintenance-related concerns at your designated sites, you will be responsible for initiating requests for specialized assistance when necessary.

The main objective of this position is to perform technical repairs and preventive maintenance tasks. You will ensure that all technical documentation and compliance records are meticulously maintained and current.

All tasks must be executed to the highest standards, ensuring efficiency and cost-effectiveness while adhering to all health and safety regulations.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Execute the Planned Preventative Maintenance (PPM) schedule within agreed timelines, ensuring all required documentation is accurately completed.
  • Respond promptly to service requests from the Helpdesk, assessing job requirements and performing necessary repairs.
  • Prioritize maintenance and repair tasks to meet established timelines and response expectations.
  • Conduct maintenance on fire alarm systems and perform emergency lighting tests and repairs.
  • Follow the established purchasing process for materials.
  • Identify irreparable faults in equipment and promptly inform the Line Manager, providing recommendations for suitable replacements.
  • Maintain up-to-date compliance documentation at all times.
  • Communicate with on-site management regarding any maintenance issues that may disrupt site operations.
  • Conduct surveys and prepare reports as required by management.
  • Perform minor modifications and installations within your technical expertise, adhering to current specifications.
  • Carry out general repairs and maintenance tasks as assigned by management.
  • Attend training sessions as necessary to keep your skills aligned with technical advancements.
  • Adhere to the company's health and safety policies consistently.
  • Represent the company professionally and foster positive relationships with colleagues and clients.
  • Participate in a 24/7 on-call rotation.
  • Collaborate with company and client personnel to uphold established quality standards.
  • Comply with any reasonable requests or instructions from management.

Financial Accountability:

This role involves tracking material expenditures and procurement activities.

People Management:

This position includes oversight of technical work and PPM activities, fostering strong relationships with colleagues and clients, without direct reports.

Required Knowledge, Skills, and Abilities:

  • Minimum education of GCSE/Standard Grade, ideally NVQ Level 3/City and Guilds 236 Part 1 + 2 or equivalent in electrical installation/maintenance.
  • City and Guilds 17th or 18th Edition certification.
  • Proficiency in three-phase electrical systems and their applications.
  • Capability to maintain and repair a diverse range of electrical and mechanical equipment, such as commercial ovens, dishwashers, and microwaves.
  • Commitment to quality in repairs and maintenance.
  • Efficiency and speed in task execution.
  • Timely response to service requests.
  • Achievement of PPM schedules within set timelines.
  • Adherence to health and safety policies.
  • Positive feedback from clients and colleagues.
