About the Role

We are seeking a passionate Health & Safety Coordinator who can demonstrate flexible, innovative, and diverse thinking. This role will support the SSHEQ Business Partner in delivering services to internal customers across various sectors including defense, education, and government services.

Your Responsibilities

  • Support the achievement of industry standards and accreditations for the business, such as ISO, CHAS, and SafeContractor.
  • Conduct thorough reviews and analysis of accidents, incidents, and near misses, identifying trends and ensuring closure of reported events within our systems.
  • Collaborate with teams to develop Learning from Experience (LfE) initiatives for significant events, sharing best practices across the Operating Unit.
  • Provide support during incident investigations as needed.
  • Contribute to the creation of comprehensive monthly SSHEQ Team reports.
  • Streamline and digitize existing policies, procedures, and guidance documents, ensuring they are up-to-date and effective.
  • Offer technical health and safety advice and respond to queries from colleagues.
  • Identify continuous improvement opportunities within the SSHEQ Team and wider Operating Unit.
  • Support the development and implementation of My Compliance and other systems within SSHEQ and across the Operating Unit.
  • Deputize for the SSHEQ Business Partner as required.

About You

The ideal candidate will possess:

  • Proven experience working within a health and safety environment.
  • A strong understanding of relevant Health, Safety, and Environment legislation.
  • Excellent time management skills and the ability to meet deadlines consistently.
  • Strong collaborative skills and the ability to work effectively as part of a team.
  • The confidence to work independently and take initiative.
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills.
  • Proficiency in Microsoft Software, including Excel, Word, SharePoint, and Teams.
  • The ability to meet client security clearance requirements if necessary.
  • A willingness to travel across the UK as required.
