Job Description:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Personal Tax Senior to join our team. As a Personal Tax Senior, you will be responsible for managing a varied personal client tax portfolio, dealing with all routine personal tax compliance and ad hoc advisory work.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage a portfolio of personal clients, providing tax compliance and advisory services.
  • Deal with partnerships and high net worth individuals, providing tax planning and advisory services.
  • Liaise with colleagues outside the Private Client team on client matters.
  • Deal with a range of capital gains tax issues, providing advice and guidance to clients.
  • Assist with or deal with the delivery of technical advisory work on the portfolio.
  • Assist with one-off advisory and compliance assignments.
  • Attend client meetings, providing tax advice and guidance.
  • Propose fees, raise client bills, and regularly review WIP.

Requirements:

  • Already ATT qualified and ideally studying for the CTA qualification.
  • Experience of the various aspects of Self-Assessment and preparation of tax computations.
  • Experience of basic private client advisory work.
  • Advising on EIS, VCT, and SEIS investment reliefs for private clients.
  • Knowledge of UK tax residence and domicile rules preferred.
  • Ability to proactively use tax legislation, HMRC guidance, and other tax resources to support or research technical issues encountered on client work.

Skills and Knowledge:

  • Technical expertise in tax planning and advisory services.
  • Experience in advising on a wide range of tax issues, including capital gains tax, self-assessment, and tax computations.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines.
