About the Role

We are seeking a highly skilled Associate Director to join our Client Portfolio Management team at Barings. As a key member of our team, you will be responsible for working closely with investment teams, sales, and other stakeholders to develop and maintain strong relationships with clients.

Key Responsibilities
  • Business Development: Develop and maintain a deep understanding of Barings' Global High Yield product offerings and high yield credit markets, serving as a lead business development liaison and primary point of contact for our high yield and loans strategies in EMEA.
  • Marketing and Servicing: Create and maintain marketing and servicing materials to highlight the competitive advantages of Barings' Global High Yield product offerings and key trends in high yield credit markets.
  • Relationship Building: Build and foster a network of successful working relationships across internal stakeholders, primarily within the investment and distribution teams, to communicate various aspects of investment strategies and financial markets.
  • Sustainability and Engagement: Support efforts communicating the Global High Yield platform's approach to sustainability and engagement.
  • Client Support: Work independently to respond to client and prospect requests with a strong attention to detail.
  • RFP and DDQ Support: Collaborate with internal teams to review and provide strategy-specific responses to RFPs and DDQs.
  • Market Intelligence: Stay abreast of market developments and competitor intelligence.
Requirements
  • 5+ years of experience in investment management or a related field.
  • University degree.
  • Excellent written and oral communication skills, including the ability to assess and convey market dynamics, portfolio strategy, and risk factors.
  • A passion for financial markets and proficiency in Public Fixed Income, specifically high yield/leveraged finance experience is a strong plus.
  • Relevant work experience, ideally in an investment management or investment specialist/product strategist/client portfolio manager role.
  • Strong organizational, facilitation, and collaboration skills.
  • Proven ability to prioritize and manage multiple time-sensitive tasks independently and perform effectively in a team-oriented environment.
  • Strong proficiency with PowerPoint and Excel required, including experience using MS Office software to produce high-quality presentations.
  • Fluency in European languages is a plus.
  • Ability and willingness to travel if needed.
