Learning Support Assistant Role

GSL Education is seeking a dedicated and compassionate Learning Support Assistant to join our team at a special needs Secondary school in Hilsea. As a valued member of our team, you will play a vital role in supporting students with SEN, contributing to their academic and social progress.

About the Role:

  • Provide one-to-one support to students with learning needs, helping them to thrive in their educational and personal development.
  • Assist in the implementation of individualised education plans, working collaboratively with teachers, Special Education Coordinators, and other professionals.
  • Foster positive relationships with students, promoting their well-being and engagement.
  • Monitor and track student progress, providing feedback to teachers and parents as needed.
  • Collaborate with other professionals to ensure a holistic support system.

Requirements:

  • Willingness to work with students in a one-on-one setting and in small groups who have learning difficulties.
  • Ability to arrange educational activities based on student proficiency with assistance from a teacher.
  • Development of social skills and assistance with individual needs.
  • Outstanding interpersonal and communication skills.
  • Providing counselling and academic help.
  • Experience working with young individuals with special needs is preferred.
