Job Summary

HM Revenue and Customs is seeking a highly motivated and experienced Deputy Finance Business Partner to join our Chief Digital & Information Office (CDIO) Group. As a key member of our Financial Management division, you will play a critical role in delivering outstanding financial services to CDIO leaders, influencing decision-making and outcomes through strong financial management.

Key Responsibilities
  • Provide dedicated financial services to one or more CDIO directors and their senior teams, working closely with Finance Business Partners, Management Accountants, and other CDIO Finance divisions.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with stakeholders, providing financial advice and support to inform business decisions.
  • Proactively monitor CDIO in-year expenditure, forecasts, financial plans, risks, and opportunities, identifying areas for improvement and implementing changes as needed.
  • Build insight based on financial data and reports, feeding into Finance Business Partners and stakeholders to inform decision-making.
  • Oversee cost models for expenditure, commercial activity, business cases, and planning across area of responsibility, ensuring effective financial controls are maintained.
  • Lead on regular and ad-hoc financial commissions, ensuring through analysis and presentation of data/information.
  • Deputise for Finance Business Partners as required, providing cover for absences and ensuring continuity of service.
Requirements
  • Previous experience of working in a finance function/environment, with a strong understanding of financial management principles and practices.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build and maintain strong working relationships with stakeholders and colleagues.
  • Ability to prioritise the differing needs of a range of stakeholders and influence decisions and actions to drive efficiencies.
  • Strong analytical skills, with the ability to turn data into insight and inform business decisions.
  • Competence in Excel and ability to continually review and improve processes.
