We are seeking an experienced Assembly Team Lead to join our team at Manthorpe Building Products. As a key member of our manufacturing operations team, you will be responsible for providing day-to-day guidance and direction to the assembly team, ensuring that production requirements are met on time and in full.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Provide Daily Direction: Provide daily direction to the assembly team, ensuring targets are achieved in line with the company's KPIs.
  • Lead Continuous Improvement: Lead, contribute to, and sustain 5S activities within the shop floor area and other departments, and conduct one Kaizen event each month to continuously improve the department in line with business needs.
  • Coordinate Department Activities: Coordinate department activities and projects to ensure high-quality standards and that deadlines are met on time. Evaluate department processes and recommend needed changes based on process analysis.
  • Establish Employee Goals: Establish employee goals and conduct informative performance reviews.
  • Disciplinary Investigations: Carry out and lead disciplinary investigations when required.
  • Staffing and Wages: Work with other departments to ensure the wages and staffing are correct on a weekly basis.
  • Health and Safety: Work in conjunction with other department heads to ensure health and safety compliance.
  • Manufacturing Manager Absence: In the absence of the Manufacturing Manager, provide day-to-day guidance to all team leaders and assist with the day-to-day activities of the factory.
  • Quality Standards: Contribute to the enhancement of the company's quality standards and the general work environment.
  • Team Performance: Ensure that the team operates at optimum performance levels in their tasks, and that the required quality is maintained, as well as ensuring production outputs are achieved on time and in full, and maintaining a safe working environment.
  • Waste Management: Ensure all waste products are separated into their designated containers for safe disposal.
  • Compliance: Comply with company and statutory quality, health and safety, environmental, and other policies and procedures.
  • Continuous Improvement: Assist in identifying areas of improvement within your area, promoting continuous improvement activities to help eliminate waste and improve safety, engagement, and efficiency.

Requirements:

  • Health and Safety Experience: Experience of health and safety within manufacturing.
  • Leadership Skills: Ability to lead and drive cultural and behavioral change and improvements in a diverse working environment.
  • Communication Skills: Ability to engage staff across all levels of the business.
  • Initiative and Time Management: Ability to work on own initiative through excellent time management skills.
