About the Role

The Clinical Fellow will work in conjunction with the Trailblazer Team and Healthcare Professionals to further develop the Enhance Generalist Skills Programme, with a focus on implementation, training, and evaluation. This work will be closely linked to the learning outcomes of the programme and the needs of patients and healthcare professionals.

Key Responsibilities
  • Establish and maintain collaborative working relationships with a wide range of internal and external stakeholders from various organisations and professional backgrounds.
  • Collaborate with colleagues to co-create inter-specialty educational material and interprofessional supervision training materials.
  • Facilitate workshops and training sessions to promote collaboration and enhance generalist skills.
  • Participate in mentoring programme candidates when undertaking case studies or independent projects.
  • Support the development of the programme and contribute to its evaluation.
About the Programme

The Enhance Generalist Skills Programme is a national initiative aimed at enhancing the generalist skills of healthcare professionals. The programme recognises the need for clinicians to develop a range of generalist skills to better meet patient needs and improve the health of local populations.

Clinicians with generalist skills are confident in managing complex care within multi-professional teams and can work across community, primary, and secondary healthcare settings to provide person-centred care for a broad range of health conditions.

Person Specification

Qualifications

  • An Allied Health Professional with current registration.
  • Education to Master's degree or equivalent level in a relevant subject or significant experience.

Experience

  • Interpersonal skills are paramount.
  • Experience of negotiating and influencing local and national stakeholders.
  • Robust experience of coordinating projects in complex and challenging environments.

Knowledge/Skills

  • Excellent evidenced communication skills.
  • Desire to think broadly about clinical care and approaches to quality improvement.
  • Aptitude for presenting ideas and plans to healthcare colleagues, patients, and carers.
