Job Title: Chief Travel Editor

Job Summary:

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Chief Travel Editor to join our team at RELX. The successful candidate will be responsible for developing and launching an online-only gold open access journal for The Lancet, focusing on primary care research.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement the editorial strategy for The Lancet Primary Care, ensuring high-quality research and content.
  • Build and maintain relationships with global primary care communities to attract high-quality research submissions.
  • Represent the journal at conferences and events, staying up-to-date with current developments in primary care and identifying potential topics of interest.
  • Write editorials and other content for the journal as required.
  • Contribute to the development of new initiatives for the journal's future growth and development.
  • Collaborate with internal teams and external partners, including Elsevier and RELX, on projects and initiatives.

Requirements:

  • A Medical Degree in a relevant discipline or a PhD in a related subject field with postdoctoral research experience.
  • Thorough knowledge of biological and medical sciences, as well as broader social issues related to primary care.
  • Ability to engage, influence, and build relationships with external stakeholders, including medical and research professionals, internal teams, and media representatives.
  • Excellent command of the English language and the ability to write engaging and interesting content.
  • Proficiency with IT systems, including MS Office.
